At the heart of every strong community is a commitment to its youth—and Mojave Elks Lodge #2059 is proud to stand by that commitment.

Last night, Joe Hodgkinson, Past Exalted Ruler (PER) of the Lodge, had the honor of presenting a $500 check to the Mojave High School Girls Softball Team. This contribution will help cover essential supplies and travel expenses as the team gears up for what promises to be an exciting and competitive season.

This generous donation is more than just financial support—it’s a statement of belief in the power of youth, teamwork, and community spirit. The Mojave Elks have long been known for championing causes that benefit children and teens, and this is just one of many ways they continue to uplift the next generation.

Team sports like softball offer young people far more than a chance to win games. They provide a foundation of life skills that help shape character and build resilience. When students join a team, they learn the value of hard work, discipline, cooperation, and perseverance. They experience what it means to commit to a common goal and support one another through challenges and triumphs alike.

For many young athletes, especially in small or rural communities, opportunities like these are made possible by the generosity of organizations like the Elks. Equipment, uniforms, transportation to away games—these costs can add up quickly. When funding is limited, it’s the support of community members and civic groups that bridges the gap and ensures every student can participate fully.

The Mojave High School Girls Softball Team expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Elks’ support. The donation means more than just dollars and cents; it shows these young athletes that their community is behind them—that their hard work matters, and that people care about their success both on and off the field.

At Elks Lodge #2059, we believe in the power of unity, generosity, and action. Whether it’s sports, academics, or the arts, we are committed to uplifting and empowering the next generation. This dedication is reflected in our national programs, including scholarships, youth leadership contests, and drug awareness education—all of which are made possible through the local involvement of Lodges like ours.

Community engagement is a core part of the Elks mission. By supporting local schools and youth organizations, we strengthen the ties that bind us together. We create a sense of belonging and pride that ripples outward, inspiring others to get involved and make a difference.

We are incredibly proud to support the Mojave High School Girls Softball Team and look forward to watching them thrive this season. Their spirit, talent, and determination reflect the very best of our youth—and they remind us why we do what we do.

From everyone at Mojave Elks Lodge #2059: Play hard, stay safe, and know that your community is cheering you on every step of the way!
